Web Design at Wakefield College
What’s Interactive Media?
Interactive Media — formally known as 'Multimedia' — is a collective term used to describe a number of computer-related design disciplines including: Web Design & Development; CD/DVD-ROM Design & Development; Design for Interactive TV; Computer Game Design.
Because each of these areas is a subject in it's own right, we think it's necessary to specialise in only one. At Wakefield College we've chosen Web Design & Development. However, the skills you learn are transferable to the other areas.
Why choose Wakefield College’s Interactive Media course?
We're committed to providing high quality training at affordable prices. We'll help you progress towards your career or educational goals by providing a level of individual support which universities struggle to match.
How do we provide high quality, individualised training at affordable prices?
Wakefield College is predominantly a Further Education institution — something that we think is a distinct advantage to your Higher Education.
We're not under pressure to recruit lots of students, so you won't be lost in a large group. In fact, you'll be one of only a select dozen or so in each year. Neither are we under pressure to decrease the amount of tuition you receive. At Wakefield College, you'll study for 16 hours a week in dedicated workshop facilities, with tutor guidance and support for the whole time. Not many universities can say that! Multiply that by our 30-week timetable [per year] and you'll see how dedicated we are to your education. We have the opportunity to get to know you as a person and to respond to your individual needs.
Course fees for 2008 are £1500 per year — half the price of some of our competitors — and that's before deducting any awards or bursaries you're entitled to.
All in all, we're confident that we provide a better Higher Education experience than many universities.
