What attendance is required?

We specifically timetable the course over two full, consecutive days to minimise the amount of travelling you've got to do, and to maximise your time whilst in College. This strategy also allows you a considerable amount of time to undertake self-study and to work part-time if necessary.

What are the entry requirements for Further Education students?

You should typically have at least 140 UCAS Tariff Points. You'll be invited to attend an interview where we'll discuss your suitability for the course. It would be useful to bring some current course work with you, particularly creative and academic samples.

UCAS Tariff Points can be achieved in a variety of ways. For example you may have:

  • A BTEC National Diploma with a PPP profile + 1 Key Skill at Level 3 or;
  • 2 x GCE A Levels: 1 at grade C, 1 at grade D or;
  • 1 x GCE Double Award at grade C/D.

English and Maths qualifications are desirable.

What are the entry requirements for adults?

Although there are no formal entry requirements, previous study at Level 3 would be an advantage. However, if this is not the case, you will be offered an interview in order to assess your suitability for the course. Examples of creative and academic work would help in this respect. Please bear in mind that the application process begins in September for the course that starts in the following September.

What are the progression and employment opportunities like?

An HND lasts for two years, rather than the three of a degree. We think that this gives you more choice in your higher education. You may feel ready for employment immediately after the course has finished — but in case you don’t — you’ve also got the safety net of a top-up degree. Our students regularly make successful transitions to both employment and university. More information on the career opportunities in Interactive Media can be found on the Skillset website.

We're hoping to be able to offer our own top-up degree in the near future.

Feel free to contact us if you require any further information.
